After her estranged husband allegedly slashed her throat with a utility knife and bashed her head on a countertop, Donna Sheehan, 37, pleaded for her life, screaming, "Please don't do this," court documents say. Jeffrey Schultz, the man police say committed the brutal Aug. 13 assault, was arraigned Monday on charges of attempted murder, first-degree unlawful restraint, and second-degree threatening and held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Police say Schultz, 45, entered the Mary Ellen Drive home of Sheehan, his estranged wife who had recently filed for divorce, just after 10 p.m. and slashed her throat with a utility knife before trying to kill himself.
