Summary
Lehi Vitor, a member of Boy Scout Troop 515, recently organized 32 volunteers to give a combined total of 198 hours of volunteer service to the New Haven Land Trust. The service project was performed as partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Boy Scouts of America's highest award, the Eagle Scout.
His project was a collaboration with the New Haven Land Trust. He worked closely with a preserve manager, David Reher, to devise, plan and implement his project. The goal of the project was to remove nonnative, invasive plant species from the walking trail at the Quinnipiac Meadows Preserve on Quinnipiac Avenue. Many invasive species are only removed with considerable physical effort. Including Reher, there were 32 volunteers. The project was completed Oct. 13 and a large portion of the invasive plant species was eradicated along the trail.See the full content of this document
