United States Women's National Team coach Greg Ryan couldn't see the point of waiting any longer to name the majority of players to comprise the team's roster for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup to be held in five Chinese cities from Sept. 10-30. On Wednesday, Ryan announced 18 of the 21 players who will represent the United States with Kristine Lilly of Wilton heading the eight World Cup veterans named to the team. It will be a record fifth appearance for Lilly in the Women's World Cup.
There are 10 players who will be participating for the first time, the most first-timers ever for any U.S. Women's World Cup Team (not counting the first Women's World Cup in 1991).See the full content of this document
