Q: Why do so many people, clergy included, profess to know what it is God says or wants, when in reality, nobody really knows -- and certainly can't prove -- what He wants of us? The best of them are saying that the reason we know God's intentions is that we have sacred scriptures, and the reason we know that sacred scriptures come from God is that they teach us how to live a life of charity, kindness, love, sacrifice and gratitude.
