Voters Urge Unity After Gop Primary

Summary


In a primary election with so many candidates to literally require tracking by a scorecard, the contested membership of the Republican Town Committee was settled by voters Tuesday. And, when all was said and done, rather than providing a ringing validation for one group or the other, the 289 Republicans voting in the primary chose some candidates from "column A,"and some from "column B."

That overall result may have served to mend a rift within the Clinton GOP, bringing together two groups in a common political endeavor.
