ANSONIA -- Veteran police officer and volunteer firefighter Michael J. Kennedy was the neighborhood organizer and peacekeeper. "All of our relatives lived nearby, and my father was the one who kept the peace between us kids, starting up ball games and organizing things with us," said son Kevin Kennedy of Shelton. "He would get us going, and then step to the sidelines and be the referee."
