BERLIN -- The somewhat peculiar conversation kept coming back to the exceptional talent of Hartford Colonials tight end Chris Vaughn, the former Louisville wide out by way of New Haven. Half a dozen times or more, Colonials coach Chris Palmer would reiterate how taken aback he was by Vaughn's athletic ability during minicamp, as well as the early part of training camp this summer. But what made the conversation so odd was that the excitement in Palmer's voice was generally replaced with a trace of melancholy.
Chris Vaughn runs a sub 4.5, 40-yard dash on a 6-foot-3, 252 pound frame that has been reinvented with 25 pounds of muscle after playing wide receiver at Louisville.
