Clyde Vaughan told the New Haven Register Wednesday evening that he has resigned as assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Connecticut because of the fallout from his arrest for allegedly patronizing a prostitute Aug. 18. "I'm resigning, effective immediately, from the University of Connecticut," Vaughan told the Register. "I gave everything I had to the university and was loyal to the university. I'd like to thank coach (Jim) Calhoun because he has been great to me."
