Unfond Farewell for 'Chicken King'?

Summary

The death of former Tyson Foods CEO Don Tyson must be addressed delicately, for it is considered uncouth to speak ill of the dead. Tyson, to my knowledge, never said a disparaging word about the billions of animals he killed in order to sell their remains in the form of nuggets and sandwiches. Those who object to the machinery of death that made Tyson famous must therefore choose their words carefully. It is difficult to know how to respond when someone who has done little to warrant kind words, yet is of wide renown, dies.

Looking to the past may be prudent. Upon the death of President Richard Nixon, Hunter S. Thompson wrote an obituary in which he suggested that if the right people were in charge of the funeral, Nixon's remains would be flushed into the Los Angeles sewerage system. Perhaps, a similar farewell would be suitable for the "Chicken King."
