New Haven -- When Underserved Connecticut Women [Derived Headline]

Summary

NEW HAVEN -- When underserved Connecticut women need help providing their children with nutrient-rich foods, they can turn to the Hospital of Saint Raphael and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. Coordinated by Saint Raphael's, the federally funded WIC program provides pregnant women and new mothers in need with checks that can be redeemed at authorized grocery stores to purchase nutritious foods critical during pregnancy, infancy and early childhood.

These foods include milk, cheese, eggs, fruit juice, dried beans and peas, peanut butter and infant formula.
