Summary


The Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians recognizes that physicians and nurse practitioners share the goals of providing high- quality care and improving the health of those we serve. We primary care physicians take the privilege of independently caring for patients very seriously. With it comes the responsibility to complete the highest education and training and to continue to advance our knowledge.

In response to Margaret Grey and Ivy Alexander's letter, "Nurse practitioners can come to rescue on primary care gap," there are substantial differences in the nature and extent of education and training of physicians and nurse practitioners.
