Town Opens 2 Bids From Firms On First Master Plan of Development

Summary

The Board of Selectmen opened bids this week for an ambitious plan geared to map out an economically sound future for Seymour. Two bids came in from firms vying to develop the town's first comprehensive master economic development plan. Mt. Auburn Associates of Somerville, Mass., and EPR Economic & Policy Revision of Huntington, Vt., each submitted bids for $45,000. That was the maximum amount the Economic Development Commission stipulated to potential bidders when preparing the bid specifications.

EDC Chairman Jon Szuch said the town is seeking an experienced firm to develop the plan, which will help give guidance as to where Seymour should be, in terms of economic and commercial development and beyond, in the next 10 years.
