Over the years I have professed that it's always tough to go against a double-digit spread when betting the NFL. While a 12- or 14-point spread is tough to ignore, it's even tougher to ignore the hapless Indianapolis Colts getting 20 points this week. In Las Vegas, the spread started at 21 at many sports books, went down to 20 1/2 early in the week, and by Thursday fell to 20. It was back up to 20 1/2 on Saturday.
On paper, the Patriots should do what New Orleans did on Oct. 23 to the Colts. The Saints won 62-7.
