Summary


Joseph Gambardella will not be collecting unemployment checks anymore. Gambardella had been collecting unemployment, paid by Madison, since last May, when he was fired as a town police officer after he was arrested for allegedly stealing lobster and fish from a town restaurant and equipment from a marine supply store.

After he was fired, he was also charged with stealing gasoline from town pumps. The town's appeal of the unemployment payments was rejected in June. The labor ruling held that Gambardella had not been fired for willful misconduct. The town appealed the ruling, and sanity has prevailed.
