Being an avid animal lover, I found the Associated Press story about the 11-year-old boy who shot and killed the wild pig in Alabama repulsive. It is obvious this family doesn't own a dog or ever turn on the Discovery Channel. Was this pig guilty of menacing the local villagers? The 11-year-old assassin, Jamison Stone, said "it feels really good" and is enjoying his celebrity status.

What's next, harpooning whales, clubbing baby seals, or a safari in the Serengeti? Why not teach the kid to enjoy and preserve nature instead of destroying it?
