Summary


Randy Johnson is getting a lot more comfortable in his surroundings during his second season with the New York Yankees. No more confrontations with cameramen. But after five innings, 87 pitches and a larger than normal workload this early in the season, Johnson was apparently a little uncomfortable with the strength of his left arm, precipitating an early exit from Thursday's 9-3 win over Kansas City to complete a three-game sweep.

Johnson was in command for much of his short outing, allowing just a run on four hits over five innings and striking out five. Prior to this season, Johnson had never gone two straight starts without walking a batter. On Thursday, he did it for his third start in a row.
