A Seymour Middle School student is facing criminal charges and school discipline after school officials discovered a pellet gun, a replica of a semiautomatic handgun, in his locker last Friday, police said. Police Lt. Robert Fox said teachers and a social worker at the school overheard the 12-year-old student bragging to a fellow student about having a handgun. School officials then searched the student's locker and located a pellet gun.
"It was almost an identical replica of a semiautomatic handgun," Fox said. "It looked extremely real. If he pulled it out and somebody didn't know what it was ... he's putting his own life at risk, if a police officer or somebody else saw him," Fox said.
