A 16-year-old Ansonia High School student was arrested Wednesday evening after she was allegedly found in possession of cocaine off school grounds, police said. She is the third student at the high school in recent weeks and the fifth this school year, to be similarly charged.
Police said an officer stopped suspect Jessica Santangelo, 16, of 5 Franklin St., because she allegedly was behaving in a suspicious manner at the corner of High and Lester streets about 6 p.m. Wednesday. The officer found cocaine on her and took her into custody.
