Sticking with N.Y. Has Been a Safe Bet

Summary

Amazing how a revamped offensive line and the addition of an elite, veteran quarterback can change the complexion and mindset of a team. I'm looking pretty good these days with my preseason prediction of the Jets making it to the Super Bowl, especially with their one-sided win over the previously undefeated Tennessee Titans last weekend. The Jets have become quarterback Brett Favre's team, and the leadership and talent he brings to the table is rubbing off on players on both sides of the ball. My preseason prediction has the Jets facing the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl with the Jets winning the game. Although the Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots will likely have a say in the final outcome, I like my chances with the Jets to get to the Super Bowl.

As far as the NFC is concerned, the Saints are on a roll and could get there, too. But the Giants will have the ultimate say in the matter with their offensive and defensive lines the best in the league, at least in my opinion. Players like Plaxico Burress and Brandon Jacobs can go down with injuries, and it doesn't matter. With their offensive line leading the way, opening holes and protecting QB Eli Manning, the Giants can plug anyone in those running back-receiver positions and make them look good.
