State Should Ban 'Texting' While Driving?

Summary


In 2007, a New York state senator said he planned to introduce legislation that would ban people from using an MP3 player, cell phone, Blackberry or any other electronic device while crossing the street in New York City and Buffalo. Although I am a firm believer that logic and common sense cannot and should not be legislated, in this day when self-indulgence has become the driving force in life and the safety of the public is threatened, action must be taken.

I, therefore, request that legislation be put forth banning texting while driving a vehicle. People are dying.
