Summary
HARTFORD -- The state is allocating $3.5 million in winter heating assistance to nonprofit agencies such as homeless shelters, adult day care providers and group homes, as well as $6.5 million to help cities and towns pay the costs of heating classrooms. Under the plan for nonprofits, the entire $3.5 million will be distributed as aid. There are no administrative expenses. The aid will be split among six state agencies (correction; children and families; developmental services; public health; social services; and mental health and addiction services), the judicial branch and the Children's Trust Fund.
Providers, in turn, would receive an automatic payment equal to their share of a state agency's contract base.See the full content of this document
