Summary
Today we will honor the men and women who have selflessly dedicated their lives to protecting our freedom. The freedoms and rights we enjoy are protected by the sacrifice of our military personnel, whether storming the beaches of Normandy during World War II or fighting today in Afghanistan and Iraq. I want to take the opportunity to extend my deepest thanks to all those, particularly in Greater New Haven, who have served.
As ranking member of the state legislature's Veterans Affairs Committee, I am happy to report that Gov. M. Jodi Rell has signed several bills this year aimed at improving benefits for Connecticut's veterans.See the full content of this document
