Summary
The University of New Hampshire women lead the field after Day One of the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships. Boston University freshman Allison Barwise, an Amity grad and the 2009 Register Female Athlete of the Year, captured the first title of the day in the women's pentathlon (ECAC-qualifying 3,571 points). A-- Bentley freshman Rob Dextradeur (Branford) had the highest finish for a member of the Falcons' men's indoor track team during the Northeast-10 Conference championships Thursday night in Boston. Dextradeur placed second in the 5,000 meters (15:21.90).
On the women's side, University of New Haven junior Shannon Gagne won all four events (55 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump) she competed in, set two NE-10 championship meet records (200 and 400) and was named both the NE-10 athlete of the year (first in UNH history) and the women's championship most valuable athlete.See the full content of this document
