Amity-Woodbridge boys' lacrosse coach Doc Behrer, a former standout for the Cheshire lacrosse team and a Rams assistant coach in 2006, really didn't know what to expect in his first season as coach of the Spartans.

Behrer, who graduated in 2000 from Cheshire, only had five seniors on the team and overall it was young. But after a few preseason practices, he knew most of the team was talented with great potential. The bottom line was to make sure the players had fun and played to their potential every game.
