STRATFORD -- Slovak Alliance of Greater Bridgeport is accepting applications for its 2008 scholarship of $1,000. To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant, or his or her parents or grandparents must be a member of the Alliance for a minimum of three years and be of Slovak descent. Applicants must also be enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university or graduate school; have a GPA of at least 2.5; and write an essay.
