AMHERST, Mass. -- The decision wasn't easy for Pat Sellers, but one he felt was necessary. Sellers left his position as a recruiting men's basketball assistant coach at Massachusetts to become the director of basketball operations at UConn in early September. On the surface the move was a step back, but joining Jim Calhoun's staff gave Sellers more job security because of the tenuous status of UMass head coach Steve Lappas.
Lappas is in the final year of his contract at UMass and likely the only way he and his staff will save their jobs is with a postseason appearance this year.See the full content of this document
