Santa Breakfast to Aid Spinal Atrophy Research

NORTH HAVEN -- The Connecticut chapter of Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy will hold a Santa breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at Fantasia, 404 Washington Ave. Tickets are $10 a person. All proceeds will go toward research for spinal muscular atrophy, a disease that attacks nerves controlling voluntary movement.

Hamden resident Joshua Tramontano, 5, is one of fewer than 10 Connecticut residents believed to be suffering from the disease.
