Summary
On the heels of their run to the Northeast Conference title game a year ago, Sacred Heart has been selected as the 2007-08 NEC men's basketball preseason favorite, according to a vote of the league's head coaches. Sacred Heart received eight first place votes from NEC head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own team. The Pioneers beat out Robert Morris, which received the remaining three first place votes. Wagner was chosen third, followed by Mount St. Mary's in fourth and Quinnipiac in fifth. Defending NEC champion Central Connecticut State was picked sixth.
Despite losing a number of key players to graduation -- including 2006-07 NEC Player of the Year Javier Mojica -- Central Connecticut State will attempt to become the first team since Rider in 1993 and 1994 to repeat as NEC champions.See the full content of this document
