U.S. Open 2006: Last Dance for Haas?

Summary


This could be the last U.S. Open for Jay Haas. At age 52, the longtime PGA Tour pro has decided that after the PGA Championship in August, he will play primarily on the Champions Tour. He made it to his 27th U.S. Open Championship - being held at Winged Foot Golf Club - by advancing through sectional qualifying.

"I made the transition. I didn't really want to," Haas said. "I really loved playing on the PGA Tour, playing in events like this, being amongst the best players in the world. Maybe next year at Hilton Head, something in my home state (South Carolina for the Heritage Classic). I feel pretty comfortable with that."
