If there were one play that summed up a dismal past weekend for the Yale men's hockey team, look no further than the one-in-a- million goal that occurred early in the second period at Harvard Friday night. About two minutes into the period, Harvard's Dave MacDonald was caught slashing. Yale goaltender Alec Richards abandoned the crease so the Bulldogs could send out an extra attacker. The Bulldogs even put a shot on net that was saved by Crimson goalie Kyle Richter.
Yale forward Chris Cahill corralled the puck behind the Harvard net and sent a pass out front. But there was no one home at the point. The puck slid the length of the ice and directly into the Bulldogs' empty net.
