Summary
WEST HAVEN -- Veteran teacher Rosemarie Reilly was quite innovative with her students. "At the last school my mother taught in, she instituted a program called Student of the Week," said a son, Robert Reilly of West Haven. "One child each week had his or her life commemorated in a display case. At the end of the week, the child's family was invited into the classroom. The other students would read letters and sing songs to that child, and then everybody would dance. It would turn into a big party for everyone."
Superintendent of Schools Neil Cavallaro said everybody wanted to be in Reilly's classroom. "She did so many special things with kids, to make them feel special about themselves," he said. "She had a way of bringing out their talents. She was all about kids and very compassionate."See the full content of this document
