Angela Gagliardi was content to let her husband, the late Harry Gagliardi Sr., do the cooking during their 56 years of marriage. "My father made wonderful meals," recalled daughter Marie Egbert of Hebron. "And my mother would give out his recipes upon request, but she had absolutely no idea what she was talking about, so people would call her back and say, 'Something is wrong, this recipe didn't come out right.'"

"She was funny," her daughter added. "When she was in her 80s, I sent her cleats to put on her winter boots. She wouldn't use them. She said to me, 'If you want to look like a little old lady, you wear them!' She was meticulous about her clothing and had a strong sense of color coordination, even in her 90s. Everything in her wardrobe was just so."
