Nicolas Hackett's family was from Canada, so he took hockey quite seriously.

"When I played hockey, we would practice before school in West Haven and my father would wake me up at 4 in the morning for practice," said a son, Lee Hackett of Branford. "He was never so happy as when I got my driver's license so he didn't have to drive me anymore - although he still woke me up."
