Ann Waselik loved to tell her kids how she corralled their dad, the late Frank Waselik. "When my parents were both teenagers, my father worked in a corner grocery store," said a daughter, Valerie Verderame of East Haven. Already smitten with him at age 16, "she would go around to her neighbors to see what they needed, then go to the store three to four times a day, just to see him. They knew one another from the neighborhood, although they did not go to school together.
