A Life Remembered: Hamden Woman 'Would Always Get You Laughing'

Summary

Rita Jordan had a very dry sense of humor. "My mother had an endless supply of ascerbic quips and one-liners," said her son, Carl Jordan Jr. of Hamden. "As the only son among five children, I was a real pain in the butt as a kid. At age 29, I was still living at home. One day, I told my mother I was going to get married. Her reply: 'Thank God. Now I can die in peace.'"

Jordan died March 9 at age 93.
