Longtime Northford resident Janet P. Singer only had one child, a son, Dr. Leonard Singer of Wallingford, but treated her son's friends as if they were her own. "She really enjoyed 'semi- mothering' some of my friends," said Leonard Singer. "I can't remember any of them that she ever rejected. She was protective of all of us."
