That is an understandable position for the Register to take since its offices aren't off Route 34. Had the Register considered the opinions of people who work at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael, I suggest the need for Route 34 would have been quite evident.

The Route 34 expressway is a lifeline between the interstate highway network serving southern Connecticut and these hospitals and their emergency rooms.
