The Register said in an editorial, "There is no need for the Route 34 connector that funnels interstate traffic into the heart of downtown." That is an understandable position for the Register to take since its offices aren't off Route 34. Had the Register considered the opinions of people who work at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael, I suggest the need for Route 34 would have been quite evident.
The Route 34 expressway is a lifeline between the interstate highway network serving southern Connecticut and these hospitals and their emergency rooms.See the full content of this document
