Circumstances out of their control turned University of Connecticut recruits Elena Delle Donne and Caroline Doty into spectators for the last month. It is no wonder that the two basketball prodigies were completely in their element as they watched the top-ranked Huskies run a vastly-improved Villanova team right out of The Pavilion in Thursday's Big East opener.
Delle Donne, a 6- foot-5 guard/forward at Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, Del., has been sidelined with mononucleosis since the Raiders' season opener on Dec. 8. Doty, a 5-foot- 11 guard at Germantown (Pa.)
