CHESHIRE -- A recount Friday has given former Environment Commission Chairwoman Anne Giddings a 168-vote margin of victory over fellow GOP Town Council candidate Sylvia Nichols. Giddings had 3,427 votes when the recount was completed, compared with 3,259 for Nichols.
The initial results Tuesday night had Giddings finishing 187 votes ahead of Nichols to take the final spot among the seven Republicans who will serve on the council for the next two years. But by Wednesday, the totals had changed in Nichols' favor, with her finishing 32 votes ahead of Giddings.See the full content of this document
