The Elm City Robo Squad won first place on a shoestring budget thanks to the tireless efforts of coach Ernie Smoker and Web site/ spirit leader Laura Roblee at Career High School. This accomplishment is the academic equivalent of a sports team that starts practice Sept. 1 (which Robo Squad did) and makes the NCAA finals in late March. The Robo Squad and all New Haven have much to be proud of thanks to Smoker and Roblee.
