Summary


I was one of the lucky people to have known Tom McCormack for close to fifty years. He entered my life when he became a patient at The Hospital of Saint Raphael following an auto accident. There he met his wife, Marilyn, who like myself was a nurse. Over the many years that Marilyn and Tom were friends of my husband and I, we enjoyed many wonderful dinners both at each other's homes and in favorite New Haven restaurants. No one entertained and enthralled you in the manner that Tom could.

I never met anyone quite like him. He was blessed with an encyclopedic mind and in seconds he could jump into a conversation, rattling off names, dates, time with incredible accuracy. These facts rolled off his tongue as he added his own special rendition which was information presented with absolute, unquestionable conviction, punctuated by a quick bang with his fist on a nearby table for emphasis, and then ending with some priceless piece of humor followed by his booming laughter.
