Tourism, which industry officials say has been woefully neglected by the state, will get a boost this summer from a private-public partnership.

Under former Gov. M. Jodi Rell, the tourism budget kept getting cut until it was $1, which led to Connecticut being removed from the regional tourism map, and generated an outpouring of criticism from the industry.
