Summary
I was driving home and was about to pass a firehouse. There were several firefighters, with rubber boots under their arms, in the middle of the street raising money for children with muscular dystrophy. In exchange for my donation, they gave me a sticker expressing support for their efforts. When I arrived home, I opened the Register and saw a touching article and picture about a special camp for children recovering from burns. In the water next to a child was a firefighter.
I have seen "tip-a-cop" efforts in restaurants in which police serve as waiters and the tips raised go to local charities. Cops also run basketball camps for youths.See the full content of this document
