NEW HAVEN -- A leak in a petroleum pipeline spilled thousands of gallons of gasoline along Waterfront Street near New Haven Harbor, officials said. By Monday afternoon, workers had isolated the leak to a section near the tank farms after digging more than a dozen trenches. In some of the cases, gas would quickly fill the holes, only to be siphoned off to tankers owned by an environmental cleanup company.
More than 2,500 gallons of spilled gasoline had been removed by the afternoon, and there was no telling how much more has seeped into the soil.See the full content of this document
