Orange Qualifies for Legion Tourney

Summary


A familiar villain showed its face early in Plainville's American Legion game against Orange. It ended up causing the difference in a close game. Plainville, which struggled on defense through the early part of the season before going on a 13-4 run, committed four errors, leading to all four of Orange's runs in a 4-2 final. Plainville tried to bounce back from the early mistakes, but could never mount a big enough rally against left-hander Fred Geisinger.

"You don't throw strikes, you don't play defense, you don't get timely hitting, you're not going to win games," Plainville coach Lou Mandeville said. "It pretty much sums it up."
