Happy Earth Day, dear readers. The reports are in. What we all have seen over the years has been verified. Yes, Connecticut, there is a global warming. Who cares? Our area -- most of it -- is well above sea level. We're not predicted to suffer dust-bowl level droughts in New England. In the next 30 years, it will just begin to get interesting around here. I figure that's what life I've got left, if my luck holds. After that, who cares?

I spoke to kids in two elementary schools in Trumbull last week. They care. Those kids will be facing climate change when it goes beyond "interesting" to "harrowing." If you think the need for oil has caused global turmoil, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
