EAST HAVEN -- Lucia Cappelli never traveled very far but she loved getting out in the fresh air.
"We rarely had enough money to go on vacation, but we used to rent a cottage on Dream Lake in Madison," recalled a daughter, Frances Cappelli of Milford. "The cottage had one room and electricity, but no indoor plumbing, so we had to pump water from outside for coffee and washing dishes, and we used an outhouse off in the woods.
