Evidence Missing Iran Diverts Nuclear Materials

Summary

Neil Berro's Forum piece propagates a false conception of Iran's nuclear program that politicians and commentators are using to justify a policy of aggression. The Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, to which Iran and the United States are signatories, guarantees the right to the peaceful development of nuclear energy. Based on ongoing inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities, the International Atomic Energy Agency continues to find no evidence of diversion of nuclear materials to non-peaceful purposes. This finding that there is no nuclear weapons program has been corroborated by U.S. intelligence agencies.

Acts of aggression against Iran, motivated by unsubstantiated assertions, would undermine the nonproliferation treaty and constitute a grave violation of international law.
