Missing Boater Died of Natural Causes

Summary


Richard Fiske, the Woodbridge boater whose body was recovered Sunday in the Housatonic River, died of natural causes. According to the state's chief medical examiner's office, which performed an autopsy Monday, Fiske, 75, died from an "intra-cerebral hemorrhage, due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease."

It was not immediately known if Fiske suffered a medical condition before the boat capsized. According to a story in Oxford Patch, police said Fiske was wearing a flotation device around his waist, but for reasons unknown, it was not deployed.
