Men Get Jail Time for Road Rage

Summary

NEW HAVEN -- Two city men involved in road rage gunfire that later escalated into a police shooting were sentenced Thursday to serve between five and six years in prison. Shawn Johnson, 25, who lived at 27 Orchard St. prior to his incarceration, entered a guilty plea under the Alford doctrine in November to attempted first- degree assault.

On Thursday, Superior Court Judge Richard Damiani sentenced him to 10 years in prison, suspended after six, with three years of probation. Johnson will only face the full 10 years if he violates probation after his release.
